1. Medical service portfolio
Diagnostics and therapy of all diseases in the neonatal age, infancy and adolescence

2. Specific main focuses of medical care
- Tumor and blood diseases of children and adolescents (hematology and oncology – Swabian Children’s Cancer Center)
- Metabolic and hormone diseases, growth disturbances (diabetology and endocrinology)
- Stomach and intestine diseases (gastroenterology)
- Kidney diseases (nephrology)
- Diseases of the nervous system of children and adolescents (neuropediatry)
- Diagnostics and therapy of congenital malformations, metabolic disorders and developmental disorders
- Infectious disease of children and adolescents
- Diseases of the immune system and rheumatology
- Children’s Radiologic Department of the Clinical Center’s Diagnostic Radiology with pediatric sonography, CT and clinic-own magnetic resonance tomograph
- Performance of radiologic and other diagnostics under sedation or anesthesia, partly in cooperation with the Clinical Center’s anesthesiology
- Nuclear medical diagnostics (scintigraphy, SPECT, PET) in cooperation with the Clinic for Nuclear Medicine
- Emergency outpatient services 24 hours around-the-clock on duty
- Psychological attendance to exceptionally stressed patients
- Provision of aftercare attendance in cooperation with the aftercare organization “Bunter Kreis”
3. Further services offered
- Private outpatients’ treatment by the chief physician
- Special consultation hours (authorized outpatients’ department of KVB) for neuropediatry, endocrinology and diabetes, hematology and oncology, gastroenterology, nephrology, mucoviscidosis
- Attendance to children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus in cooperation with the Children’s Surgical Clinic and the Neurosurgical Clinic
- Accommodation and pediatric attendance and care in the Children’s Clinic for patients of other specialty departments of the Clinical Center (eye clinic, ENT clinic, neurosurgery, dermatology)
- Advisory services for specific patient groups: diabetics training, adiposity training (partly in cooperation with the aftercare organization “Bunter Kreis”)
- Generous visiting hours
- Physician on duty 24 hours in the house, medical specialist background service 24 hours immediately available
- Daily interdisciplinary case conferences together with the II. Clinic, children’s surgery and children’s radiology
- Close cooperation with all other specialty departments of the Clinical Center
- Weekly advanced training, participation in the quality circles, lectures at and attendance of conventions
- Participation in national and international studies
- Periodical advanced training events for general practitioners and medical specialists
- Full authorization to postgraduate professional education together with the II. Clinic for Children and
- Juveniles
