1. Medical service portfolio

The Clinic for Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology is one of Germany’s largest radiological departments, in which the full contentual and methodical spectrum of modern diagnostics by imaging techniques is represented.
The main emphases Neuroradiology and Children’s Radiology are organizationally integrated into the clinic, however are professionally supervised independently.
This clinic is present at all three locations of the Clinical Center (Central Clinical Center, Clinic for Children and Adult Persons, Clinical Center Augsburg South).  

All current imaging techniques are provided in form of state-of-the-art instrumentation:
Conventional radiology – computed tomography (CT) – magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) – sonography – mammadiagnostics – radiological interventions

2. Specific main focuses of medical care 

  • Interventional radiology (vascular interventions, percutaneous biopsies, percutaneous drainages)
  • Mammadiagnostics (mammography, mammasonography, image-supported vacuum punch biopsy)
  • Neuroradiology (especially neuroradiological vascular interventions)
  • Children’s radiology
  • Skeleton and joint diagnostics (especially spinal column diagnostics)
  • Functional diagnostics of the gastrointestinal tract

3. Further services offered

  • In cooperation with the Surgical Center, Department of Vascular Surgery, and the II. Medical Clinic active partner in the Vascular Center, furthermore cooperating partner for other centers of the house such as for the Breast Center, Oncologic Center, Tumor Center, Pelvic Floor Center
  • Daily clinic-internal advanced training events, implementation of special courses and invitation of guest speakers
  • Periodical department-internal advanced training for the medical staff including attendance to the CME program (Continuous Medical Education) by the German Academy for Advanced Training and Further Education in Radiology
  • Periodical department-internal advanced training for MTRA
  • Periodical attendance of conventions in the country and abroad
  • Offerings for public advanced training events, courses and traineeships
